Ringo Starr has announced the release of a new album titled Long Long Road, set to arrive April 24.
The project marks Starr’s second collaboration with acclaimed producer T Bone Burnett, following their 2025 release Look Up, which was the former Beatle’s first country-focused album in more than five decades.
Like its predecessor, Long Long Road leans heavily into country and Americana influences. The 10-song album features contributions from several prominent musicians, including Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow and St. Vincent. The record’s first single, “It’s Been Too Long,” also includes Molly Tuttle and Sarah Jarosz.
Starr said working with Burnett has been an important creative partnership during this stage of his career.
“I’m blessed to have T Bone in my life right now and working with me on these records,” Starr said in a statement. “After we did the last record, this one just sort of happened.”
He added that the album’s title reflects his long journey in music.
“I’ve been on a long, long road,” Starr said, explaining the inspiration behind the name.
The album was recorded in both Nashville and Los Angeles with many of the same musicians who appeared on Look Up. Burnett referred to the backing band as “the Texans,” a nickname inspired by one of Starr’s early Liverpool groups from the late 1950s.
Burnett praised Starr’s musical legacy and said he wanted to surround him with talented musicians from Nashville’s current scene.
“I’ve loved Ringo’s playing and singing my whole life,” Burnett said. “He’s a recording artist of the highest caliber.”
Several tracks on the album were written or co-written by Burnett. Starr also contributed to the songwriting, including one track he wrote himself and others he collaborated on with longtime creative partners.
The album additionally features a cover of “I Don’t See Me in Your Eyes Anymore,” a song originally recorded by rockabilly pioneer Carl Perkins.
Starr said he and Burnett wanted to include a Perkins song as a tribute, noting the Beatles had previously recorded Perkins’ music.
Long Long Road continues Starr’s exploration of country-inspired sounds following his 2025 debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry after releasing Look Up.
