The Foo Fighters have announced their 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, set for release on April 24, and have unveiled the title track as the project’s first preview.
The record will feature 10 songs, including the previously released single “Asking for a Friend.” Frontman Dave Grohl said the new title track ultimately shaped the album’s creative direction after more than a year of experimentation in the studio.
Grohl described “Your Favorite Toy” as the moment everything clicked, setting the tone and high-energy approach for the rest of the material. He said the song became the spark that led to the collection of tracks that make up the band’s latest record, which he characterized as feeling fresh and different from past work.
Fans can now hear the song ahead of the album’s spring release, with preorders available through the band’s official channels.
