Def Leppard is already well into the creative process for its next studio album, according to bassist Rick Savage.

In a recent interview with People, Savage said the band has written enough material to nearly fill two full albums. He explained that Def Leppard has been steadily building songs and ideas that could carry them through the rest of the decade.

The group is currently working on the follow-up to 2022’s Diamond Star Halos. Savage noted that while the band could release the album soon if needed, they are taking their time to refine the final details. He added that much of the work now focuses on perfecting arrangements and production.

Savage expects the band’s 13th studio album to arrive either late in 2026 or in early 2027.

Earlier this year, Def Leppard released the single Rejoice, which debuted ahead of the group’s Las Vegas residency. Frontman Joe Elliott said the song was inspired by the idea of overcoming personal lows and rising stronger.

Guitarist Phil Collen explained that the track began with a riff and evolved through collaboration, eventually becoming a powerful, chant-like rock anthem.

Drummer Rick Allen previously hinted that the band had a large amount of new material in progress, saying the music was strong and still undergoing finishing touches.

Elliott confirmed in late 2025 that Def Leppard planned to gradually release new songs before unveiling the full album. The band intends to “drip-feed” tracks to fans while completing the project.

With new music already piling up, Def Leppard appears poised for another major release in the coming years.
