Mike Campbell is set to reunite with a familiar touring partner this fall, joining Chris Stapleton for a special stop on the singer’s massive All-American Road Show.
Campbell — best known for his decades-long run with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers — will bring his current band, The Dirty Knobs, to open Stapleton’s October 2 performance at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia. The appearance follows a handful of dates the two acts shared during Stapleton’s 2025 touring cycle.
Stapleton’s 2026 tour is already off to a scorching start, with multiple January and February dates selling out in advance. The full run officially ramps up May 23 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, before continuing through early October with more than two dozen stadium, arena, amphitheater, and festival stops across North America.
Throughout the tour, Stapleton will rotate a diverse slate of opening acts, including Lainey Wilson, Grace Potter, Molly Tuttle, Maggie Rose, and others. Tickets for most newly announced dates — including the Bristow show featuring Campbell — go on sale January 16 at 10 a.m. local time.
Since Tom Petty’s passing in 2017, Campbell has remained creatively active, releasing three albums with the Dirty Knobs and continuing to tour steadily. Stapleton, meanwhile, has issued four No. 1 country albums since his breakout Traveller, with Higher standing as his most recent chart-topper.
The Bristow date will bring together two artists from different corners of American music — united by road-tested musicianship and a shared love of timeless songwriting.
