The 1975 have quietly removed their song “Human Too” from streaming platforms, a track originally included on their 2022 album Being Funny in a Foreign Language. Frontman Matty Healy confirmed the change in a recent Reddit post, explaining that the decision was simply artistic. According to Healy, the track no longer fit the vision he wants the album to represent.
“Human Too was taken down so the record reflects how I feel it should,” he wrote, noting that physical copies of the album will remain unchanged, since those versions are already in circulation.
Healy also mentioned he is weighing the removal of another track, “What Should I Say,” from their 2020 release Notes On A Conditional Form, though no final decision has been made. He clarified that he’s generally satisfied with the band’s catalog, and doesn't expect widespread revisions: “It’s unlikely other albums will change.”
The 1975 have largely been out of the public eye since wrapping their Still… At Their Very Best tour in 2023, during which Healy announced the band would be taking a break from touring. Despite the hiatus, the group has continued working behind the scenes. Healy’s mother, actress and television personality Denise Welch, recently revealed she has heard new songs from the band, hinting at progress on their next album.
Fans online have been split—some support Healy refining the band’s discography as his perspective evolves, while others worry archived songs may become harder to access. For now, the band appears focused on crafting their next chapter, both creatively and personally.
