Jon Bon Jovi is looking back on 40 years of friendship, music, and Jersey pride as he drops Forever (Legendary Edition)— a reimagined version of his 2024 album packed with new collaborations featuring Bruce Springsteen and Jelly Roll.
During an interview on SiriusXM’s Bon Jovi Radio, Jon shared how The Boss (Springsteen) ended up joining him on a new take of “Hollow Man.” After hearing the demo, Springsteen called him up the next morning and said, “I can’t get that one out of my head.” For Bon Jovi, it was a full-circle moment. “You’re talking to your childhood hero,” he said. “One of the greatest American songwriters of the last half-century.”
Springsteen later added his signature harmonica to the song, and Jon says the moment still feels surreal: “I was once that kid watching Bruce play in Asbury Park — 45 years later, we’re collaborating. It’s just crazy.”
The Legendary Edition also features a new duet with Jelly Roll called “Living Proof.” Bon Jovi first met the country star at the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala, where Jelly Roll performed a tribute to the band. “I was in love with him from that moment on,” Jon said, adding that he’s just as inspired by Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie. “I’m in awe of them both.”
The original Forever hit No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on Top Album Sales, powered by its lead single “Legendary.” With the expanded version, Bon Jovi closes out a milestone year that’s already included a hit Hulu docuseries, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.
