Sammy Hagar is extending his tribute to Van Halen with the upcoming release of The Residency, a live album arriving October 10. The project captures performances from his recent Best of All Worlds Las Vegas shows.

The residency, along with Hagar’s 2024 Best of All Worlds tour, spotlighted his years with Van Halen alongside former bandmate and bassist Michael Anthony. They were joined by guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, keyboardist Rai Thistlewayte, and drummer Kenny Aronoff, who stepped in for Jason Bonham near the close of the tour before the residency began.

Both physical and digital versions of The Residency will feature 18 tracks, but with a twist—“Panama” will be available only on physical copies, while “When It’s Love” will appear exclusively in the digital edition.

Fans can already hear two songs from the record: “Best of Both Worlds” and “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight.”

Reflecting on the setlist, Hagar pointed to “Summer Nights” as especially meaningful. “It was one of the first tracks we came up with for the 5150 album, written our very first day in the studio,” he recalled. “Eddie [Van Halen] played me that riff, and I instantly started singing ‘summer nights and my radio.’ The lyrics just poured out. To me, it’s the perfect soundtrack for a warm summer evening—so it made sense as the first track released from this live record.”
