Myles Kennedy 'Overwhelmed With Gratitude' By Reaction To His Solo Music

Staying in the moment can be a battle for any busy person, and for Myles Kennedy, working with Alter Bridge, Slash or his solo project means he's constantly shuttling across timezones for gigs, recording sessions, press and more.

He admits to Q104.3's Out of the Box with Jonathan Clarke that the title of his latest solo album, The Art of Letting Go, is partly a message to himself about enjoying every step of the way.

"It's something I started working on probably about six or seven years ago, trying to just be more present, living mindfully," Myles says. "I was reading a lot of books and just trying to improve my noggin, you know. And I think the phrase 'the art of letting go' kind of summed up where I'm at, which is just kind of go with the flow, man, life's too short to get reactive and stressed out about stuff."

For Myles, staying positive is all about being grateful for what he has.

"I'm here talking with you about these songs I recorded, and someone cares," he adds. "I feel overwhelmed with this gratitude at this point how lucky I am."
