National Night Out is America's Night Out Against Crime!
The 39th Annual National Night Out (NNO), a unique crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW)
will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
2022 events will consist of the traditional police convoy visiting various neighborhoods in Harrisonburg with City leaders and department heads.
Schedule:
5:00pm – Harrisonburg City Hall, 409 S. Main St.
5:30pm – Northeast Neighborhood, 445 Sterling St. (John Wesley United Methodist)
6:15pm – Islamic Association of the Shenandoah Valley, 1330 Country Club Rd.
7:00pm – Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community, 1491 Virginia Ave.
7:45pm – Mosby Heights Apartments, 2510 Mosby Ct.
Previous year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.
National Night Out is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
- Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
