The SVSWCD and the City of Harrisonburg will be hosting a Rain Barrel Workshop at the Recycling Convenience Center (2055 Beery Rd, Harrisonburg, VA 22801)
Thursday, May 5th, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
During a Workshop Participants will…
- Convert a heavy plastic pickle barrel into a functional rain barrel
- Learn how to install and maintain a rain barrel
- Learn how they impact their local waterways
- Learn their role in water conservation and water quality protection
Participants are encouraged to: wear comfortable clothes that may get dirty, bring work gloves, and drive a vehicle that you can transport your 55 gallon rain barrel home in. Assistance will be provided for construction of the barrel. Barrels, tools and other building supplies will be provided.
