It’s a very special live episode of Fake Doctors, Real Friends! Zach Braff and Donald Faison invite a bunch of surprise fan-favorite guests like John C. McGinley, Rob Maschio, and Aloma Wright to Zoom in and talk about “the saddest episode in Scrubs history,” “My Lunch.” John discusses his insanely dedicated acting preparation routine (and why it made the Scrubs writers terrified of him), and Rob talks about the reasoning behind the amount of nudity he was doing on the show and some intimate banana hammock secrets. But one of the greatest moments of the live show is when creator Bill Lawrence crashes the show to tell Aloma, “I wanted to apologize, in front of God and everyone, for killing you when I thought the show was over!”

Zach knew at the time that Bill suspected that Scrubs would get cancelled, and, wanting to go out on a dramatic note, had chosen to kill off Aloma’s character Laverne because she was so beloved by the fans. So when Zach showed up at work one day to see Aloma driving a brand-new Escalade (“She was like, ‘Meep meep! Heyyy!’” Zach recalls), he was horrified, and asked Bill if he’d told her about her on-screen death yet. “And you told me about the meep-meep,” Bill laughs. When the show was picked back up again, Bill was happy, and then immediately felt bad, telling Zach, “‘I gotta bring her back to life!....Maybe she’s got a twin sister named Shirley,’” Zach says, laughing. Bill didn’t tell the network about “Shirley,” either, "until they started seeing dailies and said, ‘Didn’t that character die tragically?’”

But Aloma takes it all in perfectly good part. She knew when Bill came to her dressing room “that I was gonna die. They don’t come to my dressing room, ever!” But she remembers her audition for Laverne, which she wasn’t enthusiastic about; it was only four lines, after all. She went into the audition room “unimpressed,” then had to attend the network executive table read as well, where she discovered her part had been cut to two lines! “I was floored…but it turned out to be the best job of my life, so thank you, Bill, for my retirement!” she says. Get in on this rowdy, hilarious, and touching live show on Fake Doctors, Real Friends.
