Slipknot’s long-rumored Look Outside Your Window album has been pushed back yet again. Shawn “Clown” Crahan — who previously hinted at a 2025 release — now says fans should expect the record in 2026.
The project has been shrouded in mystery for over a decade. It was created during sessions for 2008’s All Hope Is Gone, but was set aside because the material felt different from Slipknot’s usual sound. Corey Taylor once described the songs as leaning toward a “rock vibe” — even comparing it to Radiohead.
In late 2024, Crahan raised hopes by revealing the album had been handed over to management and was “out of [his] hands.” At the time, he believed a 2025 release was likely. Before that, he’d speculated that it might arrive in 2024.
What Did Clown Say Now?
While answering fan questions on Discord for his Minecraft project, Crahan admitted the delay has dragged on longer than expected:
“I know I told everyone it would be this year. I’m very sorry it hasn’t been… Things come up that change everything. I want you to know 2026 is the year. I’m tired of waiting myself. Have faith. I promise.”
Even Crahan, who finished his contributions last, has shown frustration. Guitarist Jim Root previously joked that he had threatened to leak the album multiple times out of impatience.
Crahan has said the record holds a special place for him:
“It wasn’t meant as hype — it was something we made honestly, without rules, while working on other Slipknot albums. I don’t know if it’s ‘good,’ but I love it.”
For now, Slipknot remain off the road as they wrap up celebrations for the 25th anniversary of their 1999 debut.
