ZZ Top are teaming up with Dwight Yoakam for a run of 2026 concerts dubbed the Dos Amigos Tour, with a dozen co-headlining dates confirmed for April and May. Yoakam announced the shows, which will span the Midwest, South, and East Coast, including stops in Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, the Carolinas, and more. Pre-sales are already underway.
The tour comes after drummer Frank Beard returned to the stage in September following a medical absence that caused him to miss most of the band’s August performances. ZZ Top’s current lineup also includes Elwood Francis, who stepped in after the passing of longtime bassist Dusty Hill in 2021.
Meanwhile, guitarist and vocalist Billy Gibbons will be busy before the tour begins. He’s scheduled for a January–February solo trek with his BFG Band, featuring Hall of Fame drummer Chris “Whipper” Layton (of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble) and multi-instrumentalist Mike “The Drifter” Flanigin. Gibbons is also working on his fourth solo record, following Perfectamundo, The Big Bad Blues, and Hardware.
ZZ Top’s last original studio release remains 2012’s La Futura, though live projects and touring continue to keep the band active more than five decades into their career.
