Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has stepped in to defend Vince Neil after a social media user criticized the singer’s recent live performances. The band had just revealed a 2026 summer tour with Tesla and Extreme when a fan on X posted that Neil “needs to get in shape and fix his voice first.” Sixx immediately fired back, saying Neil “sounded solid and bad ass” during the band’s recent Las Vegas residency.

The residency was Neil’s first time back onstage since experiencing multiple strokes late last year. During the run, he told Eddie Trunk that he felt “about 95%” recovered but admitted he still struggles with physical demands onstage, especially on large stages where movement is limited.

Sixx also pushed back against fans calling for the return of original guitarist Mick Mars. Mars stepped away from touring in 2022 due to severe health issues related to Ankylosing Spondylitis and was replaced by John 5. Sixx reminded fans that Mars retired because the road was too demanding, asking why anyone would want him to endure the physical toll again.

When another user joked about yet another “farewell tour,” Sixx playfully responded, “Keepum Coming,” suggesting Mötley Crüe has no plans to slow down on touring anytime soon.
