National Pickleball Day
For starters, if you haven't actually played pickleball, it's basically a blend of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. There are a few unique quirks, like serving underhand and "staying out of the kitchen."
People of all ages can play, but it's most popular among seniors because it requires much less athleticism than tennis or badminton, especially if you're playing doubles. It's also a social sport . . . so it can be casual or competitive.

This video has a clear rundown of the rules.
