Jon Stewart has worked for years to get veterans and 9/11 responders the healthcare they need.
And yesterday at a press conference on Capitol Hill, he ripped into Senate Republicans for blocking a bill that would expand healthcare to vets who've been exposed to toxic burn pits.
He said, quote, "Ain't this a [B-word]? America's heroes, who fought in our wars, outside sweating their asses off, with oxygen, battling all kinds of ailments while these mother[effers] sit in the air conditioning, walled off from any of it."
He called the Senators out for their hypocrisy, cowardice, and cruelty. And he said, quote, "You don't support the troops, you support the war machine. That's all you care about."
After ranting for almost 10 minutes, Jon really brought it home with this . . . quote, "This is an embarrassment to the Senate, to the country, to the founders, and all that they profess to hold dear.
"And if this is America first, then America is [effed]."
