FTW: A Texas junior college pitcher is set to be disciplined by his team after tackling an opposing player who hit a home run off of him.
On Wednesday, during the sixth inning of this junior college matchup, Josh Phillips of North Central Texas College hit a go-ahead home run off of Weatherford College pitcher Owen Woodward. As Phillips was rounding third base, Woodward threw his glove to the ground and tackled his opponent with a blindside hit that had both teams clearing onto the field.
It wasn’t known why Woodward went after Phillips after that home run, but here’s how the incident played out on Wednesday.
