Here Now: ‘Invisibility Cloak’ That Bends Light

A London-based startup has made science fiction into science fact after developing a fully functional invisibility shield. The Invisibility Shield Company says their device uses a special array of lenses to redirect light around the shield, making anything behind it invisible.

The material used to create the shields is UV and temperature resistant and is ‘extremely durable,’ and it’s not just theory. The team has already built 25 of the devices and is running a Kickstarter to fund more. They’re surprisingly affordable, with an eight by 12-inch size priced at just under $65, and a 37 by 25-inch size going for just under $400.
