Harrisonburg Public Works wants spotted lanternfly reports in the area

The Harrisonburg Public Works Department is asking citizens to report any spotted lanternfly insects they see on their property. The invasive insect species was found in the Harrisonburg.

The lanternfly can multiply rapidly and can be destructive to a number of plants, particularly fruit. Area vineyards are especially interested.

Harrisonburg Public Works asks any citizens who find a spotted lanternfly to give them a call.
