Brandywine Campground Temporarily Closes For Repairs

HARRISONBURG, VA., AUGUST 30, 2021 — The USDA Forest Service plans to temporarily close Brandywine Campground in Pendleton County, West Virginia on September 7, 2021 to complete road repairs and campsite improvements. Brandywine Day Use Area will remain open based on normal operating conditions.

Several factors such as weather conditions and asphalt supply may affect timelines. Road and culvert repair work are scheduled to be completed by early November. As normal operations dictate, the recreation area is scheduled to close its gate for the winter in mid-December.

Visitors should use caution if using the Day Use area. Be alert to heavy equipment traveling to and from the Campground.

“We appreciate your patience during this short-term closure,” says Deputy District Ranger Eric Freels. “This project will help improve road and campsite conditions at Brandywine Recreation Area for years to come.”
