Ozzy Osbourne Announces Release Date For 'Ordinary Man' Album

Ozzy Osbourne's twelfth studio album will be available everywhere, starting February 21.

Ordinary Man, the Prince of Darkness's first new studio album in 10 years, was announced in September. The Black Sabbath front man released two singles for the album in the fall, "Under the Graveyard" and "Straight to Hell."

The album is a collaboration between Ozzy, producer/guitarist Andrew Watt and a rhythm section of Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

"It was a lot of fun to do though it's a lot different from my other albums," Ozzy said. "We recorded it quickly, which I haven't done since the first Black Sabbath album. This made it a different process, which I actually enjoyed."

The collaborations don't end with McKagan and Smith. "Straight to Hell" features McKagan's GNR band mate, Slash. And the much-bandied about title track features piano and vocals by Elton John, plus two guitar solos from Slash.

Smith said recently that securing Elton's contribution was as easy as asking him.

"I'll do anything for Ozzy," Elton reportedly told Smith and Watt.
