Freddie Mercury Biopic Will Premiere at the Most Appropriate Location

For the premiere of one of the most anticipating music films in years, Twentieth Century Fox couldn't have picked a better location.

Bohemian Rhapsody will premiere at the place where the film's subject, iconic Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, had one of his most iconic performances.

"...[The] World Premiere for the feature film Bohemian Rhapsody will be held at the SSE Arena, Wembley in London on Tuesday, 23rd October, 2018," read a press release.

Mercury is perhaps best remembered for the thrilling performances he gave at the adjacent Wembley Stadium. The band's 1985 Live Aid concert was considered its rebirth after an early-'80s lull, and its 1986 Queen at Wembley concert film is one of the most enduring snapshots of the band at its zenith.

"Guests and fans will be welcomed to the iconic venue to celebrate the highly anticipated release of Bohemian Rhapsody, walking the red carpet alongside stars of the film...[and] Queen legends Brian May and Roger Taylor," the release continued.

But the event will also honor Mercury's memory by benefitting the Mercury Phoenix Trust, an organization founded on behalf of the singer which supports global HIV/AIDS initiatives.

Rami Malek, who plays Mercury in the film, said in a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel that one of the first scenes he shot in the movie was the band arriving on stage at Wembley Stadium.

The original Wembley Stadium was demolished in 2003.

Bohemian Rhapsody will be released in the U.S. on November 2.
