'The Mountain' Sets World Deadlift Record & Then Tries To Break It

Hafthor Bjornsson, also known as "The Mountain" from Game of Thrones, had a HUGE weekend. He won the Arnold Strongman Classic competition in Ohio, and set a World Record in the process. Watch as he easily lifts 1045 pounds on just his second lift of the day. It's insane that someone could be this strong. American Brian Shaw came in second in the deadlift, pulling an impressive 1021 pounds.

After that, he tried to one up himself, and go for a whopping 1104 pound lift. He would set a new World Record, obviously, with a lift this big, and also win $50,000. Unfortunately, he didn't get it. But he cam close. And he pulled so hard, he started bleeding from his forehead. It's crazy intense. Watch the attempt and see.

See some more of his impressive feats of strength, and the training that makes him so damn strong.
