Last Friday night, Scott Lowe and I called the Turner Ashby football game against Monticello on our sister station NewsRadio WKCY @ 107.9fm. It was a very wet and sloppy field following the rains we got on Friday afternoon, which made for a tough game. The field got even more wet after the sprinkler system accidentally activated while the Turner Ashby Marching Band were performing their halftime show. Give these kids credit, they kept playing like nothing was going on. And that includes one of the color guard who needed to get into position right at one of the sprinklers...she did it, and kept on performing. I'm not sure if she got sprayed or not, obviously I'm hoping she didn't. The crowd roared their appreciation for the bands performance when they were finished. And, the Turner Ashby Knights also came away with a huge over time win, marking their first win over Monticello in the several times they've played. Great performances from ALL of the kids at Turner Ashby High School on Friday.
