This is crazy. Now, first things first, I know there are WAY more good cops than bad cops. I think maybe this particular officer may have over reacted to the situation. Jose Arreola had already paid for the Mentos when the officer sees him put them in his pocket. And honestly, just pulling out a gun and saying "I'm a Police Officer" doesn't really prove anything. Anyone could say that...where was any other ID? Jose did as he asked, put the Mentos back on the counter, and eventually the cashier backs him up and informs the officer that he actually had paid for the candy. It just seems a bit excessive for a pack of Mentos.
